Are you creating horror movies in your mind?

Is this what is going on in your brain 50,000 times a day? It has been proposed many times ( google it yourself) that we have around 50,000 thoughts a day. Its even easier than google searching it. How many thought have you had since you saw this post? You probably had a few thoughts about the photo. You probably had some ideas about my headline. And while you are reading this you are thinking.

Heck, you might even be thinking, “what the hell is he talking about I dont do that” LOL. So you actually know that is true. So I am not going all Pollyanna on you and telling you to think only nice thoughts or that everything in the world is perfect. But would it make a difference if you thought great thoughts?

I am proposing in this particular post, that ideally you would visualize, picture, feel your ideal life. Maybe there are radio stations and we do send thoughts into the universe that does attract what we want. Maybe its merely that if we are constantly thinking about what we want we notice people and things that bring us closer to what we want that we wouldnt have noticed if we werent so focused on what we want.

But at the very least can you stop making horror movies in your brain? I think when the going gets tough we are constantly picturing worst case scenarios. That is why its almost universal that people have a fear of public speaking. They imagine all kinds of crazy things and outcomes.

I hope you can learn how to think positively and create better outcomes for yourself. But can you at least start with, stop showing the horror movie in your mind thousands of times a day? Because what I am proposing here is that if indeed if you do have 50,000 thoughts a day and a mere 1000 of them is a horror movie of worst case scenarios, you just might attract them to yourself.

Its just not that complicated. You know the old experiment notice everything blue in the room, Now close your eyes and tell me what things in the room you are in are red. Your brain is pretty simple. Occam’s razor. From the 13th century the simplest explanation is probably correct. Or abductive reasoning. My dog wags his tail when he is happy. He wags his tail when we play catch. Catch makes him happy.

“Think shitty thoughts you feel shitty. Think happy thoughts you feel happy. When you are happy you are more likely to make better choices, be happy eat better, exercise and enjoy the moment and the moments in your life” John Aslanian 2023
