You Visualize at least 10 x a day

It would be impossible to eat if you didnt imagine what it was you were going to eat. And you do it for snacks too. I often imagine do I want a chocolate truffle, the sweet taste of chocolate and the velvety feel of a truffle or would I prefer the taste and the cold feeling of the ice cream in my mouth. You cant argue this.

You are with a friend or a partner and they say “want to go out for dinner?” You literally say “I cant imagine getting all dressed up and going out.”

Then the two of you agree and maybe you both imagine or visualize how nice it would be to get into your sweats and just have the food delivered. So one of you says how about sushi? And you remember what it tasted like last time and how you felt. (It wasnt good last time.) So you say no, lets go with Chinese. So this whole time you are imagining the different foods the textures the tastes and the logistics, what you would have to do to acquire the food and what it would taste like and feel like before during and after. In fact I often imagine the servers at various restaurants, the ambiance, how long I usually wait, how loud is it in there. Hmm sounds like a lot of visualizing to me. What do you do?

Maybe visualization is a bad word because it merely indicates your sight or seeing. And rather than starting with the picture and then adding the feel, and the touch we should do it the other way around.

OK I am free thinking right now. I was going to call it imagination vs visualization and we can simply swap that for visualization? But it is so much more. I was just editing and I added the sound. There are certain places I refuse to go to in New York. The new cool thing is to have acoustics so bad it always sounds crowded so you have to scream at the person sitting right next to you and can not have a group conversation. Not a good time for me. What is the first thing we all think about when it comes to any food or issue? Isnt it feeling? So, maybe no more visualization no more imagining. Lets go for the feeling. What do you call futurizing the feeling?

Ok let go for it. Lets call it Kinesthesis- izing. OK I googled like crazy there is no future tense for feeling. Well it is actually defined as precognition. So that says we are on to something here.

So I was trying to teach visualization, by showing you what you do when you make food decisions all day long. Since I am guessing you all eat. In my quiet brain because it only creates, it doesnt ruminate. That segued to what it is we actually do vs regurgitating what I have read a thousand times. Its amazing what your brain does when it doesnt spend the day talking to itself.

Dont we imagine or visualize how it will feel? And every aspect of it. So if you visualize a healthy breakfast you are usually imagining how you are going to feel later in the morning. So that is not visualizing in the strictest sense of the word. You win when you create, when you imagine the feeling or the kinesthetic modality. That is how to make better choices with everything.

So why dont we just use that directly. Lets look at smoking or even drinking. You dont drink to look good, you imagine how you are going to feel after the first drink or buzz. So visualizing (only using the single sense of sight) is worthless. Willpower isnt even worth a mention here because that is the reason for the word “dry drunk” and its way too hard. Willpower is no contest for your “imagination” or imagining how you will feel. Another word for the trash heap of our vocabulary, “visualizing”. Its literally the least powerful word you can use. I am serious you are probably better off using kinesthesizing. Trying to encompass the whole feeling vs playing around with the colors and the distance of your future picture. Instead when you “visualize” to use a word you are familiar with do the sounds, do the feelings. Experiment with just the feeling, just the sound. Find what works more efficiently for you. Maybe test it on yourself with your daily choices. I am guessing you eat a few times a day. There are healthy foods that make you feel good and there are really shitty foods that you know are just awful and make you feel bad and fat. There you can have immediate success to test which modality is strongest for you. Analyzing myself, my best choices are based on how I will feel afterwards and how I will look and how looking good will make me feel. Hmm it might be complicate recipe, like the one I just outlined. So stop talking to yourself about BS and maybe use your brain or mind constructively to at least help yourself in this one area.

You will often imagine how you feel so lets start with that the feeling.

Lets test our theory with our favorite subject women. So the woman is trying to lose weight. She can imagine looking at the number on the scale, meh, nothing there to get excited about. She can even imagine how she will look if she can get back into her “little black dress” I think every woman has one. Now we are getting somewhere that is exciting. How about if she went a step further and imagined how she would “feel” if she could not only wear that little black dress but go out to an event that she didnt even want to go to because she didnt feel good about the way she looked And now she sees and feels the feeling she would get if all her friends complement her or better yet are jealous of her. I know, women never get jealous.

But the good news is I finally can get myself a sponsor, right? one of the weight loss drugs, LOL. I’ll show them how to make a commercial with all of their friends dying of jealousy. Now I believe as a cis male that is probably the most exciting thing, But be careful its not the picture its how it makes her feel, So they need me as their director and writer. I can see all of their friends fainting from jealousy. And for some of you women who operate on making your friends jealous you might already be off to the races. Great!

And I would suggest we go deep into the “feelings” vs any other modality. So she would feel pride, joy, maybe even ecstatic, strong, beautiful, in control. How does that measure up with the custard donut? Well it depends. Which one is a better feeling? I think the better feeling wins.

Nothing tastes as good as looking good feels. PS we have introduced another sense. Maybe that is why it is so hard to diet. You can taste food you cant taste “losing weight” nor can you taste looking great. Or can you? What if you can “imagine” what it feels like so strongly that you can “taste it?”

I think that is what I have done. I can taste and feel what I want for my health. Granted I still have a few areas to work on. But as my good friend Oz Garcia says it is what you do 99% of the time that counts.

So I didnt think I was going here when I started writing but who cares. I think its valid. Visualize kinesthetically and you will be the precognition of your future. Ironically I bumped into that word when I was searching for future and kinesthetic.

It said precognition is actually a paranormal knowledge of the future.

I say its perfectly normal to predict your future if you can feel it. You “visualize” every day, if for nothing else to simply imagine what you are going to eat, what it is going to taste like. That is how you choose what to eat. So you do visualize. You are simply in the habit of visualizing foods that are bad for you, By bad I mean sucks the energy and life out of you and makes you sick.

I remember coming home from an Anthony Robbins seminar and my doorman Danny was making fun of me. I said great lets play. He said ok how about smoking. I said happy to try. I went up to my apartment and found pictures of diseased blackened lungs and then a curious photo of a chair with arms that went up. The caption was that was from emphysema ( 100% caused by smoking) your lungs couldnt inflate, so you would sit in the chair raise your arms to inflate your lungs

I thought for sure he would get grossed out by the “photo” of the blackened lungs especially next to the healthy lung. But he totally recalled in horror at the chair. I said great you attach it to your pack of Marlboro with a rubber band and promise to look at it before you take out a ciggarette, he agreed. As I spell check I am thinking yet another interesting take on this. So the photo, picture or visualization of what smoking would do did not effect him. But he recalled in horror at the emphysema chair. So that involved some sort of touch or imaging how it would feel to have to be in a chair to breathe. I never thought of my example through that lens. I think we have yet another example of a feeling.

The very next day he said he quit. Completely unexpected but he also added to it that he still thought it was bullshit. So I said great give me 5 minutes and lets talk about how great cigarettes taste and see what happens. He declined my offer

It can be that simple but it has to be dramatic and it has to be a FEELING or a taste. The picture has to be so vivid that you “feel” how great you look.

PS there might be other things happening in the universe that 10,000 other books will attempt to explain as to what happens when your feeling is so strong as if your goal has already been accomplished that unknown forces conspire to make it happen. Sorry a really great person just called me and I was at the end. But you need to imagine everything. Imagine how everything is going to feel and step into those feelings now. It is a million times more easier and more powerful than will power. And DO NOT allow yourself to imagine what you dont want. That is the only place will power comes in. How about imaginging being in control of your brain? How is that for a novel thought?
