2 Minute Exercise? Sign Me Up

I have always been a bit lazy when it comes to exercise. Actually I remember going to Equinox Gym in NYC and saw my friend there and proceeded to hit a few machines and leave. He came up to me and said “Johnny I was here for an hour before you got here, and will be here for another half hour. I watched you do 2 minutes of exercise, give 3 girls air kisses and leave, whats up with that?” i replied, “look at me and look at you”

So I have been vindicated. Google it there are a lot of articles on this. I think its more psychological than physical. People think that if they are not committed to doing a long workout they should not go at all or do. Well first of all I notice if I just go or start or whatever some days I do stay longer go farther.

In fact I will be the perfect guinea pig for this and report back to you. I did run from age 26 to 56. And I did play tennis. Gym, yea 2 minutes. But now that I have become and old fat “F” lets see what it takes to transform back. I do have a cheat on my side. We have EMsculpt at our office. So once I got my abs, which looked great, I started doing pushups. And as I said on another post. It started with one half assed pushup and now is 2o to thirty reasonably good ones.

But to my earlier point. I am so lazy now. But the other day I said I would walk to the corner. But I was talking on the phone so I landed up walking half a mile, and back, so I think thats a mile. Finally a good use for my phone and enjoyment of speaking to friends. So you have to find your own hacks. Almost like the book The One Minute Manager. It said catch even the worst employee doing something good and praise them. So catch yourself doing something good and praise yourself. And if it works put it into your repertoire.

For me I now have a rule to do pushups before my shower. Anywhere from 20 to 40. Now if I only took showers more often.

So here I am cant even believe my age. But I did finally slip. I picked up a Covid 10. So post jogging which I stopped in my mid 50’s I went from 155 12 percent body fat to 165. I am now at 175 and 24% body fat. I cant believe its actually hard to lose weight. In the past the minute I even thought about losing weight it simply fell off.

So I am going to add 2 minutes here and there and report back.
