PS Its not me. I am more handsome :). Chatgpt isnt allowed to replicate real people. Having been with the practice for 17 year I learn every day. Every day I am researching equipment, talking to other doctors around the world, talking to patients who want to make an appointment. Many of those patients tell me what didnt work for them. I talk to Danielle our head technician. She tells me about different protocols and combination treatments and what is currently the best technologies and combination protocols. I talk to Dr Lisa about what is really going on under the skin and why different technologies work or dont work. I take every phone call from manufacturers about new equipment and listen and discuss the nuances of the proposals they are putting forth.
Me at my desk

Just yesterday Dr Lisa was explaining to me that there is also an effect of heating the muscle with the new Emsculpt Neo. And two days ago I was in the office getting trained on EMsculpt Neo and Emsella. This is my job full time and I have 17 years experience in it. That far exceeds a doctor or a surgeon who is busy treating patients 40 or 50 hours a week and might actually spend one hour a month (probably less) learning about new technologies. They just dont have the time.
Of course they have great academic knowledge. But they dont teach any of these technologies in medical school or even in any post graduate courses. There is no Board Certification on lasers or radio frequency devices or any type of non surgical treatment. or any of these technologies. I laugh ( to myself) when the caller asks about Board Certification. About what? eye diseases, skin diseases, gastrointestinal disease, bone cancer? In fact if your doctor is a qualified physician, they will be busy doing surgeries, research or other procedures that only a physician can do No one spends a half a million dollars and 16 years of their life to operate a laser or radio frequency device.
I know more than most doctors about these devices. In fact I was at a seminar last month questioning Cutera radio frequency vs Exilis. Cutera is pads in one spot. Exilis is hand held. With an open mind I asked the doctor to compare the two technologies. One that puts sixteen pads on the body with radio frequency. I gave him a softball question about comparing that technology to a hand held RF where the operator decides where to put the energy. A little background if its handheld it is constantly monitored, taking it to a higher more effective temperature ( which you cant when it is staying in one place, you would burn someone). The esteemed expert doctor answered he cant compare the two because he has never experienced or used RF controlled by a hand held device. Come on people, from the little bit I have told you and a modicum of common sense you already know you cant leave RF in one spot or you will look like a burnt chicken coming out of a microwave oven. In fact most microwave turns for that very reason.
In fact even today I was in NY learning from a physician trainer on Emsculpt Neo and Emsella Emsculpt and Emsculpt Neo is for Abs and butt lift and Emsella is for kegels and FDA approved for incontinence. And watch out world Emsella is going to get approval for erectile dysfunction. Gee when was the last time we saw the world go crazy on that issue ? Does Viagra ring a bell. This could be bigger Watch out for when it gets approved.
This is such a fascinating industry. I love it when a knowledgeable patient calls and engages me in a one hour conversation about all of the different technologies and how they compare. How can you not be enthusiastic? PS one word of caution. Now that BTL has democratized the industry, people need to be a little smart and use their common sense. The BTL trainer the other day told me some moron actually put emsculpt on a person with a pacemaker. They literally could have had a heart attack and died. And when I get all those phone calls about price. ITS not about price. I got a call from a woman in her twenties for Emface. Thats the device that stimulates your muscles in your face. YOU dont have muscle laxity in your face at twenty. So the price was zero.
Some other place I am sure would have been happy to charge her upwards of $5000. I suggested a silkpeel, vitamins for the face for $250 or maybe Exilis $500 to make more collagen. But of course I recommended a complementary consult. People quoting prices without seeing someone is literally malpractice. I have spoken to people who need a lap band or at least a serious diet. Even a high volume liposuction only removes 4 to 8 pounds of fat, probably an amount we should all lose on our own by healthy dieting. Side effect less stress on your heart your liver your joints your knees. If you have that much fat in one spot chances are you might even have a fatty liver. You are probably pre-diabetic and have metabolic syndrome (more on that next post) there is just way too much to be gained by a healthy lifestyle. No I am not a doctor. Just a little common sense which we all know to be true.
