My no 1 self help tip we can all use to improve our lives

THE IDEA
Study and record exactly what you did when you were successful. Remembering your failures is automatic, because they are painful.  I literally write down on an excel sheet what supplements I took and what I ate every single day, and when I “feel great” So like your computer, when I am “ off” I can reload the settings that made me feel great. This goes for business as well. How many times have we woken up and said wtf happened ? Everything was going great.  Now I feel lousy and everything is going wrong. I don’t know what you were doing “right” previously, but neither do you, if you didn’t record it. We literally stumble upon thousands of successful days in our lives and yet cant repeat it because we literally don’t know what we did different on those successful days.  Was it the time you woke up ?  The supplements you took ?  The exercise ?  The book you read in the morning for inspiration, the 20 minute walk you took after lunch ?  It truly is work to discover your own many paths to success on a daily basis, to create a successful life. Just hoping you stumble upon more successful days is a real hit or miss way to treat your one life that you have to live.  Trust me.  This one tip will change your life.  There have been many times I have had to search my excel sheet or diary using the “find” feature.  I search for the word “feel great”  Low and behold it was last November.  I ate eggs for breakfast took a great amino acid, ( that I completely forgot about)  Or maybe I was taking B pollen and my allergies were great ( which only recurs seasonally)  Maybe I was writing in my diary, or reading a great book, and or walking 20 minutes a day.   I have more than one success routine.  But there is no pain involved when I am doing it right.  The pain comes when I stop.  By then I have no clue what I was doing right when I was feeling great unless I wrote it down somewhere easy to find.

AMINO ACID KERFUFFLE

EDIT  6/22/2018  I had a wave of anxiety wash over me like I haven’t had in years.  But of course all I had to do was look at my supplements that I recorded this AM.  Also I did not eat protein ( eggs) this am, and I took 5 HTP.  5TTP is well known for its production of serotonin, the calming neurotransmitter.  It is even recommended for sleep.  However either I had a paradoxical reaction or it was too much.  In either case thankfully I wrote it down.  I don’t usually take it alone or in the AM.  I am sure I have noticed this in the past now that I think about it.  This time I wrote down next to it, “feel bad” and the reason.  So in the future I can search for “feel bad”  via the “find” function on any document.  It is a function used in word or excel when you are looking to replace certain words.  But it works for this because, we are all like our computers.  If you simply record some notes, in your own preferred way, you can also reset your own program, just like your computer does when it crashes.  I was about to start evaluating every aspect of my life and create a full blown panic attack.  Instead I decided to let the anxious feeling run its course.  It did in less than 2 hours.  Hopefully I have enough energy left to turn it into positive energy.  I truly feel sorry for those that are just not self aware.  Everything you eat and the supplements and medications you take will affect your moods.  Some of those feelings can feel extremely dramatic.   You need to know how to deal with them vs believing you will always feel that way.  If not, your  whole life, may indeed, come into question in very serious and dangerous ways, vs cruising through it.  But at least you need an understanding of what happened, why it happened, have a sense of how long its going to last and how to deal with it, change it, or move on.  I was also going to go for a walk but instead I am going to use the energy it created to write a little.  But just knowing it had a physical or chemical (supplement) origin prevented me from a real period of self torture that could have lasted hours days or worse.

YOUR PERSONAL PROGRAM
PS Do I need to even mention that of course your details will be different ? You might be on medication. You might have taken it at a different time, with coffee, grapefruit juice ( which slows the metabolism, keeps it in your system longer)  You might have added a new supplement, drank a stronger coffee.  You may have eaten more or less or taken a supplement or medication on an empty stomach.  The combinations and possibilities are unlimited.  But that is the whole point. If you examine your life you can create recipes and strategies for happiness that work for you.  You are already doing it, but unconsciously.  You wake up at similar time every day,  drink or don’t drink coffee, take or don’t take supplements, that may or may not change.  Exercise or don’t, or maybe do on certain days only.  Even what you eat is so fundamental.  When I went to nutrition school, they suggested when you work with a client, the first thing you do is the “breakfast experiment”  Ask them to eat something different each day for a week and notice how they feel.  What you eat is going to fundamentally affect how you feel.  That’s common knowledge for any nutritionist or anyone who has even read a few books on the subject.  If you try the experiment or even think back as you read this, the coffee and donut days, you  are hungry 2 hours later.  The egg or high protein breakfasts keep you at an even energy and mood until lunch due to the slow burning protein fuel.  PS duh,  I had half a leftover dunkin donuts muffin this AM.  Now I have to google search what is in it.  I never eat that. Well I am back.  It does have a lot of weird ingredients like Polysorbate 60, Carnauba Wax.  My stomach did go “bye bye” this morning.  But this is good because it makes my point even further.  Now its another ingredient I can add to my list to be aware of in the future.  Probably easier to just avoid junk food.  But I didn’t mean to make it more complex.  The point is notice what you eat and what you do, and how you feel especially if its profoundly “up” or “down”.  Your life may depend on it.  People who commit suicide are obviously thinking its the only way out of unbearable pain.  I am not making light of it or suggesting there is an easy cure.  Some people have serious chemical imbalances that require serious medical care.  This is all very serious stuff and if your brain chemistry is that far off you need professional care.  In fact we still use ECT Electroconvulsive therapy, formerly known as electroshock therapy.   I know individuals who have benefited greatly from this when all else fails.  So this is not a matter to be taken lightly and I am not a medical professional.  This is for those of us who are somewhere along the happiness scale where we enjoy our lives and have moments, hours, or days that seem to come out of nowhere that derail us and we just need a few ideas on how to have more fun and eliminate those cloudy days that seem to darken our spirits periodically.
